1. Introduction
Award Helper is a resource for maximizing travel rewards. We provide tools for finding award flight deals, hotel redemptions, credit card benefits like Chase Sapphire Reserve hotel and dining maps, and more. For flight availability, we integrate with the Seats.aero API to show real-time pricing across multiple airline programs. This policy explains how we handle your data.
2. Information We Collect
When you connect your Seats.aero account, we receive an OAuth access token and refresh token. These allow us to query live award availability on your behalf. We also briefly receive your name and email from Seats.aero to verify your session, but we do not store this information.
3. How We Use and Store Your Data
- No persistent storage. We do not store your flight data, personal information, or Seats.aero responses in any database.
- Short-term caching only. Flight availability data retrieved from Seats.aero is temporarily cached for up to 1 hour for performance and automatically purged thereafter, in compliance with the Seats.aero OAuth Addendum.
- Token security. Tokens are stored as HTTP-only cookies in your browser and transmitted over HTTPS. They pass through our server to make API requests on your behalf but are not logged, persisted, or stored in any database.
4. Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- Authentication cookies. Secure, HTTP-only cookies storing your Seats.aero OAuth tokens and expiry. Essential for the availability search feature. Deleted when you disconnect your account or revoke access.
- Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets its own cookies. You can opt out via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out extension.
5. Newsletter
We offer an optional email newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is stored by our newsletter provider. You can unsubscribe at any time.
6. Third-Party Services
- Seats.aero. Powers our live availability data. By connecting your account, you agree to their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics. Collects anonymous usage data. See Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Revoking Access
You can disconnect your Seats.aero account by logging out from our site, which immediately deletes your tokens. You can also revoke access from your Seats.aero account settings, which invalidates the tokens server-side. In either case, we cease all access to your Seats.aero data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
